طرح هویت مکانی و تأثیراتی که این مؤلفه در تحلیل الگوهای پراکندگی پدیدههای طبیعی و انسانی و چیدمان آنها دارد افقهای تازهای در دانش ژئومورفولوژی گشوده است. در این مقاله با اتکا به تکنیکهای ترسیمی، ارتباط بنیانهای نظری و معرفتی هویت مکانی دریاچه در سطح و مقیاس خاصی تبیین می گردد. به این منظور شواهد ژئومورفیک احصاءشده و نقش آنها در هویتسازی دریاچه اُوان مورد کنکاش قرار می گیرد. زمینلغزش عمدتاً براثر تعامل بردارهای مختلف رخ میدهد. برای پاسخگویی به این مسئله علاوه بر پیمایش میدانی، از دادههای مدل رقومی ارتفاعی (DEM) 30 متری سنجنده SRTM، استفاده شد. دادههای جمع آوری شده بعد از ارزیابی و تصحیح هندسی وارد نرمافزار Arc GIS و Global Mapper گردید و در ارتباط با لیتولوژی، اقلیم و توپوگرافی محل تجزیه و تحلیل گردید. نتایج دال براین است که در شکل گیری دریاچه اوان، تعامل چنین بردارهایی نقش داشته اند: 1- لیتولوژی متفاوت حوضه، 2- شرایط اقلیم معتدل و نیمه مرطوب، 3- همجواری و اتصال لیتولوژی های مختلف براثر گسل، 4- تغییر سطح اساس شاهرود و رود جنه، 5- وجود آب تحتفشار (آرتزین)، 6- تغییر ضخامت و سیمان کنگلومرای اندج در مجاورت دریاچه اُوان، 7- تغییر شرایط توپوگرافی و هیدرولوژی بهصورت محلی، بر اثر وقوع زمینلغزشهای کوچک.
